WebIt took me more than 7 different searches to come to this thread that exactly points out the problem. I guess it has to do with old fashioned integrated Windows authentication support that is by default in IE and Edge, but not in Chrome/Firefox/etc. I experience this popup with an older web portal when accessing from remote.
